Most of our projects last a few months. We have many repeat customers, and some very longterm mentoring and development customers. Here we
present a few projects from the last few years to give a flavour for the kinds of projects we enjoy helping with.
- We do a variety of work for Microsoft, all the way back to before the
release of Visual C++ 4, when we helped with an effort to reduce the
volume of headers included into Windows applications. Recently we've
produced whitepapers, sample and reference applications, tutorials, and
presentations as well as coaching individuals on presentation skills and
serving as technical project manager for a 3.5-million-dollar project.
- For Loyalist Certification
Services we created a suite of Windows and web software, with both
Windows and web services to handle background tasks. LCS staff use
LCMS to schedule, ship, mark, manage, and invoice for exam sessions and
related products. As well, their customers (as well as customers and
staff of LCS customers) use the web portal to schedule exams, see
results, and even take web based exams and obtain their certificates.
This project completed phase 1 and went live in 2007. Since then, we
have been working with the client in an Agile process, releasing new
versions every 6-8 weeks. This has allowed them to adopt new business
practices, react to customer and regulatory needs, and expand their
market share.
- QLine Solutions is a
mentoring client. We have helped them to
supplement their flagship product with a suite of applications that use
web services, text to speech, and other recent technologies. Regular
visits tackle technical issues that QLine developers have experienced
each week, or are used for projects like moving to virtualized servers,
adopting Team Foundation Server, or architecting a new application.
- Exploration Link is a Toronto-based web
development firm with clients around the world. We handle the programming
aspects of their clients' sites such as searches, forms,
stock quote tickers, and members-only areas, as well as more significant
interactivity. We are also assisting several Exploration Link clients
with ongoing Sharepoint adoption including programming where needed.
- We created the Bowes & Cocks
Advantage
system, a conversion from R:base to SQL and built a web frontend for it.
We also developed an internal system that generates the
www.bowesandcocks.com website
as plain HTML (for maximum speed) from a database kept off the server, and
populated by imports from MLS systems throughout Ontario.
- For Edbro Software, we converted hundreds of
thousands of lines of code from Borland C++ to Visual C++. We have
also developed Visual C++ applications that integrate with
existing applications through COM and Automation.
